For most coffee drinkers, a twice-monthly descaling is enough to maintain cleanliness. Coffee machines that are heavily used may need to be cleaned more often.
For most machines, all you need to do is add 4oz of descaler liquid to the water reservoir, then fill it the rest of the way full with water. Run a brewing cycle (or two cycles for single-serve machines) and dump out the dirty water.
Refill the water reservoir with clean water, then run another brew cycle to flush any remaining descaler from out of the machine. Now just refill the reservoir with water once more and your machine will be ready to brew coffee.
ACTIVE Coffee Machine Descaler contains 32oz of concentrated descaling liquid. 4oz of descaling liquid is required for each time you clean the machine, so you’ll be able to get 8 cleanings per bottle.
The average hot tub or spa filter should be cleaned once per month using ACTIVE Hot Tub & Spa Filter Cleaner. Heavily-used hot tubs may require more frequent filter cleanings.
It’s also recommended to rinse off the filter weekly with clean water to remove debris.

The amount of treatment needed is based of the size of the holding tank. Here is our recommended ratio for the holding tank treatment:
2oz ACTIVE RV Holding Tank Treatment = 40 gallon holding tank size
For larger tanks, increase treatment amount as needed (3oz for 60 gallon tanks, etc).
The holding tank treatment works best when added to an empty holding tank. Then the treatment is able to mix with the the waste as it enters the tank.
Technically you can add the digester treatment to the holding tank any time – it’s just most effective when added to an empty tank. That way, the treatment is able to mix with waste as it comes into the tank.
ACTIVE RV Holding Tank Digester Treatment will not clean or sterilize the tank. It is only formulated to treat waste inside of the holding tank.
Yes, our treatment pods are 100% safe. They’re filled with dormant non-pathogenic bacteria cultivated right here in the United States.
For storage purposes and safety the bacteria is in a dormant state. Once exposed to moist conditions, the bacteria “wakes up” and begins to digest the waste in your septic system.
These pods are not plastic. They are covered with a water soluble wrapper that dissolves quickly when exposed to moisture allowing the bacteria to start working.

Depending on your sink setup, you may not see visible foam coming up from the drain when using these tablets. But don’t worry, the tablet is still working to clean the internal areas of the disposal!
There are a couple things that affect the amount of foam that comes out of the disposal and drain:
- Water flow from faucet – if the faucet is turned up too high, it will wash the foam down before it can come up into the sink.
- Sink setup – double sinks will often have less foam that comes up from the disposal side. The disposal pulls the water and foam downward which causes it to come up on the non-disposal side of the sink.
- If more foam is desired, you can run two cleaning tablets at the same time.
